The Genealogical Society of Finland was founded in 1917 and benefits publiclyfor its activities. The Society has about 5,950 members.

The purpose of the Society is to promote genealogical and biographicalresearch and to disseminate the results. The Society keeps the largest speciallibrary in the Nordic countries which consists of genealogy, family history andbiographical material, and it collects literature from the various fields ofactivities of the Society.

The Society publishes the scholarly edited periodical Genos and quarterly magazine Sukutieto, the Yearbook and the series for monographs.

The membership fee for the year 2008 is 39 € and life-members pay anonce-for-all fee of 780 €.

The Library will be open the following Saturdays 13th of Sep, 11the Oct, 8th of Nov and 13th of Dec
